…and hopefully what you believe in is true. One of the most important choices one can make is to stand for what one believes in. More difficult is to do so with tact and poise, and to communicate with kindness and consideration with those who do not stand with you. Often, family relationships are at stake. One cannot apologize for one’s values. What one may regret is how, in real time, one chose to communicate. You don’t have to be righteous to take a principled stand. Doing so, though, is doing what is right, the literal root of the word “righteous”.
