WOW!!!! I just heard that The Washington Post Co has agreed to sell its newspaper assets, including its flagship daily, to Amazon Inc founder Jeff Bezos for $250 million. In the journalism world this is an incredible event. The Post has been considered by many to be one of our top national watchdogs for many years. With Murdoch owning the Wall Street Journal and Bezos (who may be a good guy but who knows nothing about journalism) owning the Washington Post, the only remaining pillar of the Fourth Estate is the New York Times. I fear we will come to miss the old Post.
