Life is short. Smile as often as you can – then keep smiling.

1 Life is short - smile

“Every time you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing.” Mother Teresa.

CHARACTER COUNTS! (www.charactercounts.org) focuses on creating a positive school climate where children are both physically and emotionally safe, where they feel they are accepted and valued and where they feel they belong. One of the most effective ways to create this environment is to fill the halls and classrooms with smiles as the first hello.

Smiles are contagious. When teachers and administrators use a smile as their first greeting it spreads to the students and creates a culture of kindness where bullying and meanness cannot live.

Guess what. The same is true in the workplace and at home. A smile at the beginning of every meeting or discussion sets a positive tone that can release tension and invite a warmer, more human interaction.
